Stained Glass Flowers on Vellum

Image
Hey Friends , here's a card I made for the Whimsy Retreat back in June. It was one of my class projects or actually a make and take for attendees to do between classes. This was an exclusive rubber stamp only for the retreat attendees and it is not available to buy. But Whimsy Stamps has other beautiful stained glass rubber stamps available in the store. I stamped onto thick Vellum paper using Versamark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder . I colored the image with my Kuretake Clean Color Brush Pens on the front of the vellum to achieve bright colors. Coloring on the back of the vellum would result in more muted colors. The bright green glitter foil paper was from an older  PaperDoor  kit additional Whimsy products used:       Thanks for stopping by Hugs,

PaperDoor Beaucoup Bouquet Inspiration

Image
Happy Monday and Welcome to more PaperDoor inspiration!  As I said, I will be back with more Paper Door creations. Today I want to share two more projects I made using the  NEW July PaperDoor! Here is my first card for today made with the Beaucoup Bouquet  PaperDoor  kit: I love this months kit, it is SO versatile and the stylized flowers and foliage can be used almost on any project. If not the single focus on your card they can be used as embellishments as well or use them to create your background. The possibilities are endless! You can purchase your kit  HERE On the card above I used the included distress inks to color and do my background. Whereas on my second card I went for kraft paper from my stash and a different look with a different coloring medium. But see for yourself: I stamped the flowers onto kraft paper with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with the included white Ranger embossing powder. I used water based grey markers (Tomb

Hello Fairy

Hello All! It's shabby-chic Sunday today - here is a card I made using Faye the Fairy from Whimsy Stamps '   Marina Fedotova collection I've neglected the shabby chic style quite a bit recently and was drawn more to the modern CAS look. I still am I have to admit but inbetween I really enjoy going back to my old style especially with these adorable fairy images <3 I colored the image with Copics. The sentiment was cut out using the NEW Bold ABC dies . I just love these letter dies. They are also perfect for shaker cards. Very versatile ABC die set. Here is a closer look on the ABC dies: I also used double sided vintage looking paper from my stash (I think it's from Maja Design, but not sure). Love double sided paper if you want to fold it over or have some cut-open effects where you can see the back of the paper. On my card here I folded over one corner and decorated it with flowers. It looks like the flowers are growing out of the paper. Love this

Sunshine - Multi Window Shaker Card

Image
Happy Monday Friends! This was one of my class projects from the Whimsy 2018 Craft Retreat. This was a hand-out kit for attendees to take home as my actual class project was a mixed media canvas which I will be sharing here a little later this week :-) This is a Multi-Window-Shaker Card which I created using the largest die from the    Shaker Maker Rectangle die set  and the  Wavy Edger Die set . Each window is it's own shaker so to speak. The background was created using different colors of Shimmer Mist sprays. Sentiment is from the  Scripted Everyday Sentiments . The image is an Elisabeth Bell image called Sunshine . I fussy cut her and the little doggy and I then colored them with Copics (see below for list of colors used). The paper I used is a very pretty shimmery, wavy soft green cardstock that was included with an older PaperDoor kit. Unfortunately it is very hard to photograph and does not show in the picture. But that paper is stunning in real life! Co

Whimsy Stamps July Release - Day 5

Image
Welcome to Day 5 of the Whimsy Stamps July Release Week . Today's card uses one of Deb Davis   new clear stamp sets  called  'Soul Mutts' . How cute is this image!?! This reminds of my daughter when she was a little girl and our Boxer Jogi we had back then. They were also inseparable and soul 'mutts'. I stamped the image with Versafine Claire Nocturne ink onto watercolor paper and colored the image using Distress inks - Walnut Stain, Evergreen Bough, Brushed Corduroy, Tea Dye, Scattered Straw and Tumbled Glass. The sentiment is included in the set. The blue shimmer paper was a left over I had from an older Whimsy PaperDoor kit. As are the gold and glitter blue paper strips I used to decorate the card. The black strip is a black glitter tape .  Embellishments used: Enamel dots and sequins . Whimsy products used:                             Thanks for dropping in! Hugs,

Whimsy Stamps July Release - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps July Release. Today we are showcasing 3 new stamps from the DoveArt line -  Harvest Wreath ,  Harvest Delight  and  Sunflower .     For my inspiration card today I chose the  Sunflower  stamp: For a change I went with a more embellished and shabby chic looking card. Haven't done these in a while and I had so much fun creating this one. I colored the  Sunflower   with Copics, distressed the edges of the white cardstock with a Tim Holtz Distress Tool and brushed on some Distress Ink (Brushed Corduroy). I also distressed the edges of the designer paper. The sentiment is from the  Scripted Everyday Sentiments   and I die cut it using the  NEW Shaker Maker Pennant Flag dies . Copic color list: Y 15, 19, 38 YR 21, 23, 24, 27 E 84, 87 YG 91, 93, 95, 97, 99 V99 Whimsy Stamps products used:                            Thanks for dropping in! Hugs,

I used a panel of cold press watercolor paper. I then put down several layers with Distress Crayons (mustard seed and picked raspberry) and
