Boo To You!

Image
Happy Sunday All! Today I have a one layer card to share. I used the NEW Whimsy Boo To You clear set from the August release. This card is a little smaller and measures 4" x 5". Because there is only one layer..well yeah I popped up the image with foam tape for just a little bit dimension, and almost no embellies on there it will ship well in the mail and also can be done quickly. Ideal for a last minute Halloween card. I stamped the image onto Hammermill cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the little ghost with Copics (C4, C2, C0, B41, BV08, BV04, BV02, BV000) and fuzzy cut him. The senmtiment is from the same Boo To You clear set. I stamped the set with Versamagic and heat embossed using black, fine detail embossing powder. The background was done using a Distress Spritzer Tool and a black Distress Marker. For the white splatters I used watered down Gesso and a brush. For some sparkle I used a Wink of Stella clear brush pen on the glasses

Day 3 of the Whimsy August Rubber & Clear Release

Here we are for Day 3 of the Whimsy August release . Another Halloween card is in the spotlight today - a Headless Horseman ! This is another amazing clear stamp and die set by Deb Davis and part of the Halloween Haunts and Sleepy Hollow Series. On my CAS card I used the Headless Horseman die as my focal point. The sentiment and pumpkins are from the matching Headless Horseman clear set . I stamped the pumpkins with VersaMagic chalk ink onto the black cardstock. The larger orange pumpkin was stamped with Versafine black ink onto ornage cardstock and cut out with the pumpkin die from the Headless Horseman die set. Here is a list of all the Whimsy products I've used on my creation:

Whimsy August Release - Day 2

Here are my inspirational creations for day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps August Release ! First up is Fall Fox , a rubber stamp illustrated by Krista Heij Barber. I made a CAS scene card using only Whimsy products and here is how.... To create the cloud background I used the Stitched Cloud die se t and a blank stencil sheet . Using the large solid cloud die (not the outline one) I partial die cut the clouds along the edge of a blank stencil sheet alternating the two sides of the cloud die. So I would have different sizes of scallops on my stencil. This is what my self-made stencil looks like: To partial die cut you sandwich your die between your cutting plates so that only the part of the die you want to cut is under the top plate. Only that part will be cut. Then I sponged the background with distress inks using my new cloud stencil. I used hot pressed watercolor paper for my card and also to stamp the image on. The meadowy hills are created with the curved die of the St

The Whimsy Stamps August Rubber and Clear Release is live now in stores ! To celebrate this new release with lots of amazing images and dies please visit our FB group where the Whimsy DT has lots of new release inspiration projects to share over the next few days! Also see the Whimsy Inspirations Blog for details about the release. Here are my creations for today: On my first card I used the new rubber stamp 'The Infant King' . Before I started coloroing I cut out part of the image using a star die from the Pierced Stars set. I also cut a piece of fun foam using the  same star die. Then I colored the image using only Copics from the E40's group. The star part of the image I colored with colors I would normally use for a nice effect. I layered the colored star onto the fun foam star and adhered it back onto the main image.  The background / outline was done using 90% alcohol, a brush and some Copic ink. I scribbled onto a little acrylic block like I would with

Using the Polka Dot Fun clear stamp set I stamped with Versamark ink onto acetate and heat embossed with white embossing powder. If you are heat embossing on acetate it is important to use a thicker acetate sheet as it will withstand the heat better and wont warp. There are special acetate sheets for heat embossing available from several

Happy Weekend Friends!  You know about the awesome Whimsy CAS  Program don't you? CAS means Customer Appreciation Set. Each month a new and exclusive set will be released. You will receive one set when you spend $75 on one single retail order in the Whimsy store. This set is not available to buy yet. See all the details   HERE  . The set for August is Let's Dance and illustrated by Denise Lynn. I love this set, its so feminine and girly with the beautiful Tutu and ballerina shoes. When I saw this set I knew instantly what to do with it and that I wanted to use shades of pink.....of course!   To create this card I painted a watercolor background using distress inks (spun sugar, worn lipstick and victorian velvet) onto watercolor paper. I let it dry and stamped the tutu with black Versafine ink. I then cut it out, put it on a piece of fun foam and adhered it back on to the  background. With gold watercolor paint (Gansai Tambi) and white pigment i
