Ahoy Matey - Whimsy Stamps New Release!

Image
Yo Ho Ho! Ahoy, Me Hearties! It is new release time at Whimsy and all the amazing August goodies are on deck and available for you!  My new release creation showcases the NEW Pirate Party clear stamp set illustrated by Krista. I used earlier released products together with the new goodies. A short How-To and product links can be found below. How I created this card: I first stamped the images onto mixed media paper and colored them using watercolor markers. Then I fuzzy cut the images (there are also matching outline dies available for this stamp set).  Next I die cut the treasure map from bright blue cardstock. To add some texture I used the sun rays stencil and blue oxide ink and sprinkled on some white acrylic paint.  I die cut the word ARRGH with the word and shadow die from white and black cardstock. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and cut it out.  Finally I assembled all the parts onto a white A2 cardbase using foam tape and glue. A few sequins...

Christmas in July! Whimsy's newest release just hit the store shelves today. These cute and fun Matchbox Mice Quick Card Fronts making it easy to create Christmas cards in a flash. For my first card I combined the cute NEW Matchbox Mice Christmas Quick Card Fronts with the NEW Holly Frame die set. I cut out the large frame from white glitter paper. Then I used the smaller rectangular die to cut out the Quick Card panel to fit in the larger holly frame. I decorated my card using the included bow and holly dies. The sentiment is included with the Quick Card Fronts and I cut it out using one of the Quick Strips dies. On my second card I used the large Holly Frame die and the smaller rectangle die to create a frame. I used Distress inks, Distress Oxide inks and Distress Spritzes with an ink smooshing technique to ink the Holly frame. To add more texture I sprinkled the inked frame with white acrylic paint. I added the frame to one of the QCF's, added the sentiment and a fe...
