Dahlias on Grey Mixed Media Paper


Hi Everyone and Happy Sunday! Today I want to share a card I made using Whimsy's 'Layered Dahlia' from the Crissy Armstrong collection using Prisma pencils on grey mixed media paper.


My card is a A2 size top-fold card. I started out by stamping the Dahlia blossoms, buds and leaves with Versamark embossing ink onto grey mixed media paper. Using the embossing ink makes lines nearly invisible after coloring. They will blend almost perfectly with your pencil coloring.


When I color with pencils on colored paper like this grey mixed media paper I always put down a white layer first. Then I put down all the colored layers on top of the white layer. This will make sure your colors stay bright and you can avoid dull colors.
A few white sprinkles (white acrylic paint) add an artistic look. A simple sentiment (included with the set) and a few sequins finish off my card. This CAS style card is perfect for many occasions.
