HAPPY 2019 & Whimsy Stamps January 2019 Release
Hello All! I want to wish you a very Happy New Year and only the best for 2019! Welcome to my blog on this New Years Day. Let's kick-off our creative journey 2019 with the Whimsy Stamps January release!
You'll find all the new release products in the Whimsy store HERE!
And here is what I came up with for this first release of 2019, using the following new products:
Wonky Windows 1 die, Kooky Monsters clear stamp set, Quick Strips die set
Wonky Windows 1 die, Kooky Monsters clear stamp set, Quick Strips die set
I made a partial shaker card using the Wonky Windows 1 die. Only two of the windows are shakers. To create the background to cut the window panel out of I started out with plain pink shimmer cardstock. Using Distress inks worn lipstick and seedless preserves I sponged the pink cardstock to have a gradient from dark (top of card) to light (bottom). To add some texture I first added spritzers of water, let them dry and then sprinkled on black ink.
The Kooky Monster was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Hammermill Digital Color Cover Stock 100lbs and colored with Copics (see a list of colors below).
The sentiment is included with the stamp set. I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment strip with one of the new Quick Strips dies.
When making shaker cards I always glue some of the filling to the background of the shaker window. This way not everything falls back to the bottom when setting up the card.
