ROP / BNW Challenge 38 - Gifts
Hello Fellow Crafters And Welcome to another fortnightly challenge from Roses on Paper and Belles 'n Whistles! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Mine was filled with lots of errands to run and lawn and garden work but I enjoyed it anyway. I'm not to much of a gardener but love to have my garden nice with flowers in my pots etc. And it is really satisfying after all the weeding, cutting trees and mowing the lawn when you see how nice everything looks again :-)
I also want to welcome our new DT sisters to our Belles 'n Whistles family
Woooohoooo! We are thrilled to have you girls and looking forward to a fun filled designing & craft time togehter!!!

Ok onto our challenge now :-) This time our fabulous Anki is our host and she is challenging us to make a gift. She says:
Gifts - gift bag, box, gift set - the sky is the limit - you decide!
I decided to alter an ordinary brown paper bag and used a tutorial I found on Liza's blog. I decided it was time again for my Distress Inks and I colored Magnolias 'Happy Tilda' from the Raising Ceiling Collection with my Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads. For her hair I used Brushed Corduroy, Antique Linen and Walnut Stain. The skin is colored using Tattered Rose, Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Aged Mahagony for the cheeks. Shirt and socks I have colored using Victorian Velvet and a little Aged Mahagony and Pumice Stone to accentuate. Pants are colored with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo. For the shadows I used Pumice Stone, Weathered Wood and Black Soot. All papers and flowers are distressed using Brushed Corduroy.
The Flowers I used for decoration are from Magnolia (white Gardenia), Whimsy Stamps (Rose buds) and Prima. For the punched flowers I used my EK Success punches. Border punch is from Martha Stewart. I set highlights and accents with Stickles glitter glue Stardust & Platinum and with my Viva Decor Pearl Pen. DP is from Basic Grey's new line Capella and from my stash (sorry don't know the brand) The Capella paperpad and other new Basic Grey paper pads are now available at Roses on Paper.
I used this weeks sketch from Friday Sketchers. I had to play with it a bit to fit my bag because of the lid, but I hope it is still ok.
My bag, which I made for a special friend to cheer her up a little, will also fit the challenges over at 'Cute Card Thursday' - Someone Special and One Stitch At A Time - Anything But A Card
Here are some more close-ups of my gift bag:
This is how the bag looks opened up. I used a small velcro pad to close it.
Thanks for taking your time and stopping by here today and any comment you may leave. Hope to see you over at our challenge blog! Don't forget to check out the rest of my the DT-sisters (see sidebar) stunning creations!
