New ROP / BNW Challenge: Fun in the Snow!

Happy Monday Friends! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I had a great one even if it was veeeery cold here in Florida, very unusual! We actually had freezing temps here and I am afraid my oranges and lemons didn't like that too much...will see if I lost my crop this season. I got everything down what was ripe though.

And a perfect fit for that weather is our new challenge at the Roses on Paper & Belles 'n Whistles combined challenge blog. Jodi is the host this time and she says:

Show us WINTER!

We want to you to create cards/projects with a wintery or snowy theme!

And please do keep in mind if you are joining our challenge you have to use a Belles 'n Whistles, Magnolia, Bildmalarna, Alota or Stamp from the Greeting Farm in order to qualify for the prize drawing!

I hope you'll join us and get the chance to win a great prize! You have until Sunday 17th January to enter!

For my card I chose a Magnolia image which I have not used yet: Edwin on Sled. I think it is just the perfect image for the theme :-) And also the trees in the background are from Magnolia. I used the masking technique to create this wintery scene.
I colored the image using my Copics. After I finished coloring I masked all the images and airbrushed the background using a light blue and some light grey to obtain a snowy looking skye. Unfortunately the effect does not show very good on the pictures. Around the edges I sponged a little using Antique Linen distress inks. I also added some polar white Flowersoft to the trees and Carara Marble Glitter on the bottom for a snowy effect and some dimension. Diamond Stickles was used for the track in the background. The sketch is from Midnight Madness Challenge Blog MMSC35 and this card my entry for that challenge. For embellishing I used a Martha Stewart Border Punch, some ribbon, half-pearls and a snowflake charm. The sentiment is a stamp from SU! The DP is from Graphic 45 and My Minds Eye, CS is from DCWV. I distressed all layers of DP and CS with distress inks Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy.

Happy Montag liebe Bastelfreunde!
