Image
Edited to add on Monday Feb.8th at 9:00 AM EST:  *** Due to a little mix up with the challenge dates the winner of the last challenge will be announced on Wednesday! Sorry and thanks for understanding! The new challenge will be posted during the course of the day! *** Hello and a wonderful Monday to everyone! Hope you all had a nice weekend! For my card today I used one of the older Belles 'n Whistles images but oh so cute Lil' Miss Poppy . Isn't she just adorable? And for a change I pulled out my distress inks and colored her instead of using my Copics. Today is also the start of a new challenge over at our combined challenge blog Roses on Paper and Belles 'n Whistles . Sweet Susan is our host this time and she's challenging us with a fabulous color challenge: Pink - Brown - Vanilla . And these are the colors I used for my Lil Miss Poppy card. Otherwise I kept the card pretty simple. Used 2 Martha Stewart punches, ribbon and rhinestones & half-pearls.

Wrap Around A Cup - A Gift Wrap Idea

Image
Happy Friday Everyone! I'm back today with another gift idea, part 2 of my gift set. :-) I showed you the little paper basket on Wednesday and that was part 1 (actually the whole set consists of 4 parts). This time I made a wrapper for a mug. I used the same colors as I did for my basket so everything will fit nicely together. The DP I used is from the new Basic Grey collection Origins. The image is colored with the same colors but instead of the Cupcake image I used another cutie from the new Sweet Things collection: Beary Big Hugs .   I thought making a wrapper is a nice idea and something different than putting the mug in a box and decorate the box or alter the box the mug was sold in. And let me tell you, it is pretty quick as well ;-).  I decorated the top with Prima flowers , rhinestones , half-pearls and added a large bow and some smaller strands of ribbon. The image was put on the front and I trimmed it as well with a matching little Prima flower , matching ri

Mini Paper Basket & Tutorial

Image
Hello everyone!  Today I like to show you a little paper gift basket I made. This is a real quick project and ideal for giving some sweets maybe at Valentines or together with another gift for a birthday or the like. Those baskets are not only for Easter where they are typically used I guess. I find them quite versatile. I filled mine with some small, single wrapped chocolate bars and it's going to be part of a birthday gift set. I chose the image Cupcake from our latest Belles 'n Whistles collection Sweet Things . I just loooove this image and think she is just perfect for my little sweet basket, don't you think so? For the colors I chose green, brown and yellow because I like to use some of the DP's from Basic Greys Origins collection for my card and gift wrapping later on. So my little basket will fit perfectly then.      Here's a close up of the image. I colored her with my Copics.      And here you can see I decorated the handle with some rhineston

ISB Challenge 18 - Love and Hearts

Hello everyone and welcome to our 18th ISB Challenge . This time it's a theme challenge again: "Love & Hearts". We want you to create something with hearts, maybe for Valentine? This is not limited to cards, so get creative and let your creative juices flow. There are fantastic inspiring creations by my fellow DT sisters, make sure you visit their blogs (see sidebar). You have time to enter the challenge until  Saturday February 13th 6pm CET. Make sure you check our challenge blog a little later today (the new challenge and the winner of  the last challenge will be posted a little later today) to see what awesome prize Ilona has to offer this time. I decided to make a Heart-Window card. I cut this card out using my Cricut and the Tags, Bags, Boxes and more cartridge. This is also the Valentines card I like to give to my husband. I did not go with the usual red and pink colors. I got inspired by some papers from the new Basic Grey 'Sugar Rush' collection. Im
