BnW Challenge - Complimentary Colors

Image
Happy Monday and welcome to a new fortnightly BnW Challenge ! This time our super talented Lils is the host and she wants us to use "Complimentary Colors". Simply explained that means use a pair of colors that are opposite on the color wheel, e.g. red and green.   For my DT creation I chose the colors blue and orange together with the cute 'Sweet Dreams' image from the 'Forever Young' collection. I stamped the image onto iridescent cryogen white paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the cutie using my Copics. The sentiment is from Whimsy ( this is one of the free sentiments Denise adds to orders). The leave flourish is from Cheery Lynne Designs and the border punch is a MS punch. All other embellies are from my stash. Copic colors used are:  B 000-00-01-04-06; YR 0000-000-00-12-15-18; E 50-31-25 (Hair); E 000-00-01-11 (Skin). For shadows and to tone the colors down a bit I used: T 0-1-3 and W 00-0-1-2-3-5 Thanks fo...

New LHO Challenge Today - Embossing

Image
Happy Sunday Stamping Friends! Today starts a new fortnightly lovely-hAnglar-only challenge with the theme 'Embossing'. No matter if you prefer heat embossing, embossing with folders and your die cutting machines or love to emboss using stencils and a hand embossing tool. We want to see some embossing on you projects. I did something different today. I used this sweet hAnglar girl, stamped it with pink pigment ink and heat embossed using 2 different embossing powders. I used a pink - was a little too pink for my liking - and mixed it with a burgundy colored embossing powder. I like the sprinkled look it has now. And I decided not to color the image for a change. I wanted the embossing to stand out. I also did some dry embossing using a Cuttlebug folder. DP is from Basic Grey, sentiment from Whimsy and all other embellies from my stash. Please visit my fellow DT sisters blogs for their embossing creations and I hope to see you over at our lovely-hAnglar-o...

Zoomin' Through!

Image
Hello friends and welcome to my Whimsy New Rubber Release Showcasing Day 1. The card I made for today is a bit different from my usual style. It's clean and simple (at least for me) and mostly black and white. The stamp is one from the new Vintage Transportation Sentiment Set designed by Ann from Raindrop Echo Designs. When I first saw this set I knew instantly what I wanted to do with it. It just asked to be embossed...lol. And that's what I did. I stamped it with clear embossing ink onto white cardstock and embossed it using black ultra fine embossing powder. The DP I used is from MME 'MeadowLark'. I kept everything clean & simple and black & white and added an eye-catcher and contrast with the red satin ribbon. Please stop by at the Whimsy Inspirational blog (12 noon) to see who's showcasing the new stamps today and then please visit the designers blogs to see more details of their creations. Have a great day!
