VooDoo You Love?

Hello friends, welcome to my blog today. Here is a card I made with the NEW VooDoo clear stamp set from Whimsy Stamps. What an adorable set.

I stamped with Versafine clair Nocturne ink onto Canson 140lb watercolor paper. I colored the little voodoo doll with FB Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils and a waterbrush.

The base is a pink A2 size card from heavy 110lb cardstock. The designer papers are also from Whimsy - 6x6 pattern paper Starring Hearts. I embellished my card using a button, enamel dot, thin rolled paper strip and pink staples.

Happy New Year 2020! - Whimsy January Release

Hello folks! Wishing you all a very happy and healthy 2020! Let's kick start the new year with our first new Whimsy Stamps release for 2020. This release is AHH-MA-ZING! But see for yourself. HERE in the store you'll find all the new goodies.

I am showcasing a new flower set today illustrated by Crissy Armstrong and it's part of the Whimsy Stamps Crissy Armstrong collection. They are called Layered Peruvian Lilies. This set is very versatile. You can layer the flowers, stamp them with different colored inks to receive beautiful images quickly without coloring. Or you can use just the outline images of the flowers and color them with your favorite medium. I used the latter method.

Because I wanted a bucnh of flowers coming out of one corner of my card I used the masking technique to create this cluster of  Peruvian Lilies. I used only the outline stamps from the flower blossoms and leaves and stamped them on a A2 size watercolor panel with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I colored using my Altenew watercolor pan set.

I also didn't want my card to be too simple and flat so I decided to cut out the image with the largest die of the NEW Wonky Stitched Rectangles die set.  To give it a 3D effect I used the second largest die of the Wonky Stitched Rectangles die set and cut out another rectangle from my image. I adhered the image on a A2 size card using foam tape. This method doesn't take away the focus from my image but it still is not just a flat one layer card. A few sequins and a small simple Happy Birthday sentiment (that is included with the Layered Peruvian Lilies set) finish off my card.

So why not sending some love and making someones miserable time a little bit more bearable? I colored the adorable image using Karin Brushmarker Pro pens. There's also a little January release sneak peek on this card. You might want to be paying attention to the background ;-)
I used the stencil, Distress ink (tumbled glass) and a blender brush to create the BG.

To add some accents I used FaDoodles in two of the corners. Some sequins and jewels finish off my card.

Very Merry Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends,  are you all ready for Christmas? Just one more day. To shorten the waiting time a bit I want to share one more card with you. On this card I used several different coloring media as well as a combination of several Whimsy stamps. Coloring media I used: Karin Brushmarker Pro,  Copics, colored pencils and watercolor pencils as well as some white acrylic paint.

I stamped the images ( Very Mice ChristmasMason JarChristmas Postcard) using the masking technique onto Strathmore white mixed media paper with a hybrid ink. The evergreen bough was colored using Karin Brushmarker Pro pens. These pens are liquid ink filled and very juicy. It's water based ink and coloring with these markers is like a charm. They are available in the Whimsy store for a fantastic low price! Check it out HERE.  The mice and candy cane were colored using Karin Brushmarker Pro pens, Copics and colored pencils. On the mason jar I used Copics, colored pencils for the lid and jingle bells and watercolor pencils for the glass.

To enhance the glass look on the jar I wanted to add some white acrylic paint. To make sure I wont ruin my colored image while adding the acrylic paint I had to seal it. I did not want to risk any smears from the ink of the brush markers. I used Tim Holtz Distress Glaze to seal my image and it worked well. After it was sealed I used a flat brush to add some light, soft strokes of white acrylic paint to achieve a glass look.

For the background I used red cardstock and the Tartan Plaid BG stamp. I stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. The sentiment is included with the Christmas Postcard stamp set.

Here is a list of Whimsy products used:

Whimsy Stamps and Tombow Collaboration Week

All week long Whimsy Stamps and Tombow will be joining forces to bring you some amazing inspiration combining products from these great companies! Be sure to visit both companies’ blogs each day this week to see all of the incredible projects the designers have created AND to enter the giveaways!

Hello Everyone, I'm here today with my creations for the Whimsy Stamps and Tombow collaboration. For my first card I used the adorable Winter Wonderland clear stamp set illustrated by Krista Heij-Barber and the Slimline Marquee die.

I inked the background using Distress Oxide Inks in different blue tones and sprinkled on water and some white acrylic paint for a snow effect. The snowflakes and sentiment in the middle window were stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.

I used several different media to color my images therefore I stamped the images with a hybrid ink onto white mixed media paper. To color the snowmen I used Tombow Dual Brush PensTombow ABT Pro Alcohol Markers - Orange Tones and Tombow Colored Pencils 1500 Series
I love to use different media when I color images and these markers and pencils from Tombow worked all very well together and it was a joy to color these adorable images from Whimsy Stamps.

Here is a closer look on the images. I used the markers to lay down the base colors and went over it with the pencils to add some more depth and details.

For my second card I used the Rounded Rectangles diesForest Majesty dies and the Winter Wonderland clear stamp set again.

The background on this card is blue glitter paper and the window was cut out using the Rounded Rectangles dies

I used the Tombow ABT Pro Alcohol Markers - Orange Tones to color the Snowmans nose, scarf and gloves. For everythign else (including the birch trees in the background) I used the Tombow Colored Pencils 1500 Series.
