Sunshine - Multi Window Shaker Card

Happy Monday Friends! This was one of my class projects from the Whimsy 2018 Craft Retreat. This was a hand-out kit for attendees to take home as my actual class project was a mixed media canvas which I will be sharing here a little later this week :-)

This is a Multi-Window-Shaker Card which I created using the largest die from the  Shaker Maker Rectangle die set and the Wavy Edger Die set. Each window is it's own shaker so to speak. The background was created using different colors of Shimmer Mist sprays. Sentiment is from the Scripted Everyday Sentiments.

The image is an Elisabeth Bell image called Sunshine. I fussy cut her and the little doggy and I then colored them with Copics (see below for list of colors used). The paper I used is a very pretty shimmery, wavy soft green cardstock that was included with an older PaperDoor kit. Unfortunately it is very hard to photograph and does not show in the picture. But that paper is stunning in real life!

Whimsy Stamps July Release - Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of the Whimsy Stamps July Release Week. Today's card uses one of Deb Davis new clear stamp sets  called  'Soul Mutts'.

How cute is this image!?! This reminds of my daughter when she was a little girl and our Boxer Jogi we had back then. They were also inseparable and soul 'mutts'.

I stamped the image with Versafine Claire Nocturne ink onto watercolor paper and colored the image using Distress inks - Walnut Stain, Evergreen Bough, Brushed Corduroy, Tea Dye, Scattered Straw and Tumbled Glass. The sentiment is included in the set. The blue shimmer paper was a left over I had from an older Whimsy PaperDoor kit. As are the gold and glitter blue paper strips I used to decorate the card. The black strip is a black glitter tape.  Embellishments used: Enamel dots and sequins.

Whimsy Stamps July Release - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps July Release. Today we are showcasing 3 new stamps from the DoveArt line - Harvest Wreath, Harvest Delight and Sunflower.

  

For my inspiration card today I chose the Sunflower stamp:

For a change I went with a more embellished and shabby chic looking card. Haven't done these in a while and I had so much fun creating this one. I colored the Sunflower with Copics, distressed the edges of the white cardstock with a Tim Holtz Distress Tool and brushed on some Distress Ink (Brushed Corduroy). I also distressed the edges of the designer paper. The sentiment is from the Scripted Everyday Sentiments and I die cut it using the NEW Shaker Maker Pennant Flag dies.

Whimsy Stamps July Release - Day 1

Happy Sunday Everyone! It's the time of the month again and we at Whimsy Stamps are so happy to be bringing you 5 days of release week for all the new July goodies. Today we are showcasing on the Whimsy Inspirations Blog two new fairy images, an amazing new rubber background stamp, a fun sentiment set and an awesome new alphabet die set.

     
     

On my inspiration card today I am using the fabulous NEW Flower Puffs Background stamp:

How-to:

I created the background by starting with some masking using Post-it tape to create a wonky rectangle shape. I used a panel of cold press watercolor paper. I then put down several layers with Distress Crayons (mustard seed and picked raspberry) and blended it with my fingers and just a little bit of water. After it had dried thoroughly I stamped the NEW Flower Puffs Background with VersaMark ink on top of the Distress Crayon background and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I stamped the NEW Flower Puffs Background again onto cold press watercolor paper (smooth side) with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I colored one of the large flowers with distress inks (mustard seed and picked raspberry) and fussy cut it. I adhered the flower on top of the same flower image on the background using foam tape to create a 3D effect.
I added a small shaker element which I created with one of the NEW Shaker Maker Pennant Flag dies. I cut a small strip of white paper, stamped a birthday sentiment from the  Scripted Everyday Sentiments set and adhered one end to a small wooden decorative spool. I added the sentiment between the shaker element and the large cut out flower. Some white and clear sequins finish off my card.

Mermaid Birthday Wishes

Hello Everyone! I am back from an awesome weekend last week. I had the pleasure to be teaching again at the 3. Whimsy Stamps Craft Retreat and had a blast meeting old friends and making new ones. Can't wait until next time! <3 All my crafty goodies are now unpacked and put back in place in my craft room. The Whimsy July release is right around the corner and I am busy creating for that as well as the July PaperDoor kit. So keep your eyes peeled for some new goodies coming soon to my blog here.

Here is one of my projects I had prepared as a kit for attendees at the retreat to take home. It uses the Let's Be Mermaids clear set from this months release.

I colored the image with Copics and cut it out. The background was done using Post-it tape to create the wonky rectangle shape, blended some Distress inks using blending brushes  and stamped the Seashell Background  with Versamark ink. Sentiment is from the  Scripted Everyday Sentiments. A layer of blue glitter paper, some clear sequins and Nuvo drops complete my card.

Here is my creation/coloring for The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge

I colored this cutie from Whimsy's Marina Fedotova line called Mazarine Butterfly Fairy. I colored her using my Copics (for a full list of Copic colors used see below). The background was made using shimmer sprays and Glitter ink from the Wink of Stella pens which I sprinkled with a brush on the paper. The sentiment is from the Scripted Everyday Sentiments which I gold embossed on vellum paper. The beautiful satin gold cardstock was a left over from one of my Whimsy Paper Door kits. Gosh these kits are always stocked with the most beautiful papers *love*! For a final touch I've added some matching sequins and glitter dots.
