Whimsy Stamps Virtual Weekend - Toucan Surf

Hello Whimsy Friends!

This weekend we are celebrating Whimsy Stamps First Virtual Weekend in our facebook group. If you are reading this in time please come and join us for many hours of crafty fun with games, freebies, videos, tutorials and prizes and of course lots of inspiration!

Today I'm sharing my card I made with one of the free digital images called Toucan Surf illustrated by Dustin Pike. You will find links to all the freebies in our facebook event HERE. These images are all free for you to download this weekend only. Comes Monday they will be available to purchase in the Whimsy store!

My card base is a top-fold A2 sized, white card. I decided to make a simple shaker card using the Shaker Maker Rectangle die set. I used the smaller of the two rectangle frame dies included in this set and created a shaker ornament in the center of my card. I love to use the extra thick Shaker Maker Foam Tape to create my shaker element. It gives just the perfect space for my shaker filling to move freely.
As background I used one of the papers from the Mermaid paper pack which I layered on a shiny blue cardstock panel. This beach scene paper is just the perfect background for my surfer dude.

I colored this fun bird using my beloved Karin Brushmarker Pro pens. Oh and yes, these birds come in green shades too ;-)  For a list of colors used please scroll down. I prefer to use Strathmore Mixed Media paper with these pens.

The sentiment is included with the image. To change the sentiment to white on black background I used Photoshop.
