Fishing You All The Best

Image
Hello Crafty Friends! No coloring today on my fish bowl card. I've been a bit behind with my DT creations due to life being in the way but finally caught up. This die set - released earlier this month -  is called NEW   Kitty Cat  Extras die set. I've used the fish bowl and fish dies from this set to create the main image. The die cut water plants are from an older set called Build an Ocean die set. I used the Making Waves stencil to create the water in the bowl. A little extra touch was added by using one of the NEW Fish & Mice border dies with an underlayer. of matching blue cardstock. Hot Flash - Whimsy Mini Release

Image
Happy Memorial Day! Whimsy Stamps is having another Mini-Release today and I am showcasing several of the new stamps and dies on my comic-book style card today. The NEW   Menopause clear stamp set is just hilarious {and fits me oh so well...LOL} and goes perfectly with the the  NEW  Comic Speech Bubble dies and  NEW  WTF Large Word & Shadow die. All the A2 sized Wonky Window dies are perfect for creating comic-book style cards. I went with the Wonky Window 1 die on my card. I colored the image using Karin Markers on Bristol smooth paper. If you heard me say I don't like Bristol smooth for watercolors, you can read what changed my mind here .  Here is a link list of all Whimsy products used on my card:                               Thanks for visiting my blog today! Happy Wednesday! On todays card I showcase super adorable stamps from the Crissy Armstrong collection that were released earlier this month. This set is called Barnyard Squares. I stamped onto Bristol smooth cardstock and colored with my ZIG brush markers. The A2 size die is called  I have to say I never liked the Bristol smooth for watercoloring until recently. I bought a new pad of the Bristol smooth from Strathmore and compared it to the one I had for several years already (also Bristol smooth from Strathmore). Not only is the cover different but also the paper feels different and is in deed smoother. It looks like they changed the way they seize the paper. With the old one it was not possible to watercolor, the paint soaked into the paper immediately. Love the newer Bristol smooth and I also love that it is bright white!  Here is a link list of all Whimsy products used on my card:                  ...

The latter is out of stock at the moment but will be back in stock soon again! I colored the little adorable smooshy wrinkle face with my ZIG clean color brush markers. Fresh Friday on Sunday ;-)

Image
Hello Everyone and Happy Sunday! I know it's Sunday not Friday....but nevertheless here is my creation using some of this weeks featured products. See all deets over on the Whimsy Blog . I did not feel like coloring this time and thought of a way to showcase the stamps otherwise. I opted for embossing on pink cardstock for my main image. Everything else are just die cuts - except the sentiment of course. For the rainbow I used glitter cardstock. Whimsy Stamps Mini Release - Hippo Beach Fun

Image
H appy First of May!  Whimsy Stamps is having another super cute mini release today. Have you been to the store already? I'll be showcasing one of the adorable Hippos from the Hippo Beach Fun  clear stamp set by Dustin Pike. I started out by stamping the image onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Versafine Onyx black ink. Then I watercolored the image with ZIG clean color brush markers and cut it out. My cardbase is a A2 size cut from white 110lb cardstock. Base layer is blue shimmering cardstock. To create the wavy background I used Distress Oxide inks (peacock feathers, salty ocean and tumbled glass), the Making Waves stencil and a blending brush on white cardstock. To finish off my card I've added a Connected Rectangle Frame cut out from white cardstock, a sentiment (from the set) and a few sequins.
