Hello Winter!
Now that the busy time comes to an end, I'm finally feeling like being creative again. My creative mojo was hiding somewhere (probably behind the Christmas tree) for the last two weeks. I started several creative projects and they all went in the trash bin *sigh*. But not so much now anymore! :-) Here is a little card I made using the adorable 'Favorite Flake' clear set by Deb Davis available at Whimsy Stamps.
I stamped the girl from the 'Favorite Flake' set onto Hammermill 100lb Color Copy Cover Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. This is my favorite cardstock for coloring with Copics. I prefer the 100lb over the 80lb because I like the more sturdy feel of it especially when fussy cutting my images.
I colored the image with Copics (see list below) and fussy cut around it.

On a white cardstock panel I added some blue distress ink for the background (mermaid lagoon) using a blending brush for a soft and fading color around the edges. You could use a blending sponge as well for this technique but I find that when I'm using a brush I have more control and can achieve a softer more blended looking effect. Especially when I want my colors to look softer and not so dramatic and bold.
The sentiment comes with the stamp set and was stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink in the upper right corner of the same white cardstock panel where I brushed on the background.
With a fine black ball-pen I drew a curved line to resemble a hill. This is where I want my girl to sit on.

For the next step I need to attach the image temporarily so I used a removable glue tape. I attached the image where I want it to be and stamped some snowflake dots (also a stamp from the same set) with Versamark ink. I stamped the dots not only over the blue background but as well all over the image to create the effect of falling snow. I heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Now I can remove my image and adhere it again with foam dots for a more dimensional look. Some faceted blue rhinestones and some drops of clear Nuvo drops between the snow dots complete my card.
