Whimsy Stamps Facebook Challenge - Something New!
Ok onto my card and some Whimsy News! Starting this month there's going to be a new challenge every month in the Whimsy Stamps and Inspiration Facebook Group! Come and join the Whimsy FB group and enter our monthly challenge to win some yummy stuff! This month the theme is 'Something New' and you can win a $15 Whimsy gift voucher! The Whimsy Rubber DT is showing inspirational creations throughout the first week of the month in the FB group! You have time to enter until the end of the month!
Here is my inspiration for the challenge:
I used the *New* T4T 'Shy Girl' and colored her with Distress Inks. She was stamped onto Fluid hot press watercolor paper. I've been neglecting my Distress Inks for quite a while now and I'm trying to use them more often. It's always just so fast and easy to color using alcohol markers. But definitely enjoy coloring with DI, it's so relaxing and I love the soft look of it! I'm also trying to find the best hot press watercolor paper for me. I've tried so far Lanaquarelle, Fabriano (Artistico) and Fluid. I still have two more pads to test, the Langton and another Fabriano (Studio). So far I liked the Fluid best but I'm looking forward to trying the Langton (came in yesterday :-) ) I only heard the best things of it.
Here's a close-up on the little girl. I used shabby whit Frantage embossing enamel around the image.
Flowers, brads and metal embellishments are from WOC. Charm is from my stash and the antique safety pin from Tim Holtz. Furthermore, to stick to the 'New' theme of the challenge, I used the *New* Heart Border die, *New* Bird Cage Die Set and *New* Everyday Moments sentiment set.
This card will be on it's way tomorrow to Germany. I made it to cheer up my mom a little bit as she broke her wrist last week and is going to have surgery on Tuesday. :-(
Thanks for visiting today and don't forget to join us in the
