Welcome to Denise's birthday party hop!
This is the start of the hop so you are on the right track! :-)
Today (May 16) we are celebrating the birthday of one of the best stamp company owners out there: Denise Lynn of Whimsy Stamps! To show our appreciation for Denise's kindness, the Whimsy family and previous guest designers are holding a birthday party blog hop using some of the amazing Whimsy Stamps products that we have grown to love. Thank you, Denise, for giving us the opportunity to represent a company with great products, wonderful customer service, and most of all, an owner who truly cares about its artists and designers. You are the best!
To show some appreciation to the Whimsy customers for helping us celebrate Denise's birthday, we are giving away a $25 Gift Certificate to Whimsy Stamps store. Just hop along, leave a comment on the birthday blog posts by May 21, and a random winner from the comments left on participating blogs will be chosen to win the gift certificate. The winner will be posted on the Whimsy Stamps blog on May 22.
For today's birthday hop I've created a card without any colored images....awwwww can you believe it and that from me...LOL Something just hit me and I wanted to create a clean & simple card with just a die cut and only a sentiment. But before showing my card I want to say:
Happy, Happy Birthday Denise! Thanks for all you do and being the bestest boss in the stamping world!!! Enjoy your day! xxx
I used the Cupcake die from Whimsy's Shapeology collection. I ran it through my die cutting machine 3 times. First with a sand cardstock, then using a white glitter paper to resemble the topping and last but not least in red for the cherry. I cut off the white top part and adhered it to the base. The cherry was put on a little foam dot to make it pop off the card and give some dimension. The cherry stem is from a paper flower. A white organza ribbon was used to tie the cupcake to the card. (Of course I also glued the cupcake to the card!) And when I looked at my little cupcake I new something was missing....just didn't feel complete. So I added small brown rhinestones where usually the tiny wholes are. I thought to make it look like some chocolate sprinkles on the topping. The final touches were added rounding the left bottom corner and the small sentiment in the right bottom corner. Which BTW is from the Oval Snippets sentiment set.
And here is a closer look on the cupcake:
I hope you liked my creation even if it was a little different from my usual style :)
This hop is rather large, so here's the hop order in case you get lost:
Thanks for joining us today! Feel free to head over to Denise's blog to wish her a happy birthday :)
Luv 'n hugs,
