Clearly Whimsy Stamps March Release Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of our ...
Clearly Whimsy Stamps March Release News and Inspiration

This week we will showcase 4*BRAND NEW* Clear stamps, and 2*BRAND NEW* Shapeology crafting die!    All of these new products are available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store and from selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Friday.

Today we are sharing creations made using our Hedgehugs Clear Stamp set
.

Our design team members and Special Guests have been working hard on their creations featuring these new products. Visit the Whimsy Inspirations Blog to see all their gorgeous work and to visit the DT's and GDT's blogs.

Here is my project for today using this super cute stamp set 'Hedgehugs' and the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles Die Set.

I stamped the images onto Fabriano Artistico hot pressed, extra white watercolor paper using Versamark ink and heat embossed with detailed snow white embossing powder. I colored using Clean Color real brush pens. I love these because you can really achieve so many different effect with these. From a distressed look to an almost Copic like look. Also fine detailed work is possible due to the fine real brush nibs - see the grass. I am usually a real Copic enthusiast but at the moment I am totally hooked with these :-D
I then cut out the image using the largest of the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles Dies and adhered it to my card base with foam tape. The sentiment is also from the 'Hedgehugs' set.

Only embellie is a black enamel dot. Oh I love these dots but they are quite expensive. :-/ While searching the web I found a tutorial on how to make your own from pony and perler beads.... soooo simple! And these beads are available at a very affordable price. Just put them on a parchement lined baking sheet and bake at 400F for 8-12 min., depending on your oven. Make sure the whole in the bead faces up and they will melt beautifully into shiny dots :-) It is a bit smelly though, so make sure you open the windows and your kitchen is well ventilated. These beads are available in tons of different colors and also come in different sizes. The perler beads are even available striped or multicolored.

Hope you liked my creation and please come back tomorrow for our last inspiration day and  then these wonderful new stamp sets and dies will be availabe in the Whimsy Store!

Hugs,

Here is my creation for today using the Sketched Elephants Clear Stamps and Coordinating Sketched Elephants Die Set.

I stamped the elephant, the party hat and the balloons onto Fabriano hot pressed Artistico Extra White watercolor paper using Versafine black ink. I colored them with my Clean Color bursh markers and cut them out using the coordinating sketched elephant dies. My card measures 4 1/2 x 6 inches. I cut out the circle on the left side of the card and adhered a piece of teal cardstock behind the front panel of the card. I then added the cut out images on top of it using foam tape to make them pop even more. The banners where cut out from matching DP and layered on top of each other. The sentiment is included in the stamp set and was stamped with Versafine black ink. To finish the card off I added a teal sequin and a few teal pearls.

Thanks for visiting and lease come back tomorrow for more inspiration
from the new Clearly Whimsy March Release!

Sweetie

Hello stamping friends, hope you are all having a great Thursday. Here I am today with some more Whimsy - Wee inspiration for you.

This is Sweetie ...well that fits her pretty well, don't you think?! :-)

I colored her using Kuretake/ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens and my new traditional Japanese water colors Gansai Tambi, also from Kuretake. I love these. They are very opaque, bright and have an almost buttery consistency. Quite different from normal watercolors.

The image was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto Fabriano Artistico Extra White, hot pressed, 100% cotton, watercolor paper.

I also added some shabby white embossing enamel around the image and on the mat frame. The sentiment is from Clearly Whimsys "Into The Woods" set.

Thanks for visiting,

Just a Note - Clearly Whimsy

Today I want to show you a card I made using 3 different Clearly Whimsy stamp sets and a matching Shapeology die set. I used the Clearly Whimsy Just a Note set which was released in January and the older Say What set. I also used the matching Say What Speech Bubbles Die Set, it is on sale at the moment here in the Whimsy Store. The sentiment and xoxo border was stamped using the Clearly Whimsy Everyday Mini Sentiments.
I colored using my Kuretake Clean Color brush pens and the paper is from an Authentique paper pad called Lovely.

Frog Prince

Hello All and Happy Sunday! I tried a new technique today, well new for me that is.....no line coloring using water colors. I only did the no line technique with Copics so far. At the moment I am pretty addicted with my Kuretake Clean Color Brush Pens :-) so I thought I would give this a try.

Frog Prince is this cute image called, illustrated by Sylvia Zet - Wee Stamps for Whimsy. In my opinion it is a bit more challenging to use the no-line technique with watercolors than with Copics. Because of the very light outline you have to be very careful while coloring and only use a damp, almost dry, brush to blend the colors. It's also pretty time consuming. But I have to say I like how it turned out. To better showcase the image I kept my embellies  to a minimum.

Hugs,
